Hello, I am Mia
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Berlin, Germany.
Some years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Germany wasn't in our long-term plans. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and heightened expectations. Daily tasks often seemed more complicated than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, routines began to settle in. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created Dov Nelap Axrim
The majority of information online leaned toward corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical experience from living in Germany
- Focused on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something genuinely changes
This site isn't:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Germany continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information is useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,
Mia
